We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Remote AP English Tutor to join our team, providing invaluable online tutoring sessions to high school students preparing for the Advanced Placement (AP) English Language and Composition or AP English Literature and Composition exams. As a member of our tutoring team, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' academic... journeys while fostering their passion for literature and composition. Responsibilities Conduct engaging one-on-one or group online tutoring sessions with high school students, focusing on AP English exam preparation. Develop personalized lesson plans and study materials tailored to the unique needs and learning styles of each student. Provide comprehensive feedback on students' essays, aiding in the refinement of writing skills encompassing style, grammar, and content. Guide students through literary analysis, critical thinking exercises, and effective writing strategies pertinent to the AP English curriculum. Assist students in enhancing reading comprehension abilities and grasping literary devices and techniques effectively. Stay abreast of the latest updates in AP English exams and adapt tutoring methodologies accordingly to ensure students are well-prepared. Motivate and empower students to set and attain academic goals, fostering a supportive learning environment. Maintain open communication with parents or guardians, offering regular progress updates and addressing any concerns promptly. Utilize various online tools and platforms to facilitate interactive and seamless virtual tutoring sessions. Continuously explore innovative teaching techniques and incorporate current educational trends into tutoring practices. Requirements Bachelor's degree in English, Literature, Education, or a related field. A Master's degree is advantageous. Proven experience as an AP English tutor or teacher, demonstrating a successful track record of guiding students to excel in AP exams. Thorough understanding of the AP English Language and Composition or AP English Literature and Composition curriculum. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, fostering positive relationships with students and parents alike. Proficiency in virtual teaching tools and platforms, ensuring efficient delivery of online tutoring sessions. Ability to tailor teaching approaches to accommodate the diverse learning needs of students effectively. Strong organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple tasks efficiently. Enthusiastic and patient demeanor with a genuine passion for education and student success. Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate students' schedules. Reliable internet connection and a conducive, distraction-free environment for conducting online tutoring sessions. Job Type: Part-time Pay: $18.00 - $30.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 7 per week Benefits Flexible schedule Grade levels: 6th - 12th grade Schedule: After school, evenings as needed, Monday to Friday School subjects: English, Foreign Language, Reading Application Question(s) What is your SAT/ACT Score?
