Summary The Analytics Staff Engineer will provide operational management and technical development / coordination of the existing Fleet Support analytics portfolio for remote diagnostics. In this role, you will lead the development, testing, and implementation of new algorithms and data science concepts for the next generation of remote diagnostics. In order to do so, you will plan, prioritize and manage project activities and initiatives.Job DescriptionRoles and ResponsibilitiesAdditionally, as the Analytics Staff Engineer, key responsibilities will include:Integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional areas of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategyBe responsible for work that is less defined in scope, utilize understanding and experience to execute business objectives, and can affect short-term and some long-term business goalsBe the point of contact for Fleet Support analytics strategy and development, with responsibility for cross functional project coordination across the businessImprove coordination between broad analytics / data science community and Fleet Support team, and drive implementation of standard processes with proper documentationDevelop project scope and determine resources required for successful project executionProvide process and technical guidance to product line teams on new analytic opportunities and revisions to existing analyticsDevelop and capture technical problem-solving knowledgeWork with analytic implementation teams and diagnostics team to operationalize analytics and train usersCoordinate activities, projects, and processes with Fleet Support Shanghai analytics teamSupport communication with customer on analytics solution of field issues, so that all members of the customer support team share common understanding and objectivesLead the design and validation of detection analytics for diagnostics that meet business goalsIdentify product failure trends and assist in identifying probable root causesOptimize current engine diagnostic capabilities to improve analytic accuracy and enhance customer satisfactionIdentify potential problems and coordinate troubleshooting activitiesTrain and mentor fleet managers on the development, testing, and implementation of new algorithms, improving and maintaining existing analytics, and retiring obsolete or inefficient alertsRequired QualificationsBachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or universityMinimum of 5 years of experience in EngineeringMinimum of 3 years of experience in a multi-discipline project engineering coordination roleDesired CharacteristicsPerformance Engineering or Engine Diagnostics experienceUnderstanding of airline operationsInterpret aircraft and engine manuals and service bulletinsWorking knowledge of programs/coding languages such as MATLAB, Python, R, JMP, SAS, SQLExperience with Data Science techniquesStrong ability to analyze technical dataStrong project management skills including; cross-functional coordination of activitiesAbility to effectively manage multiple project responsibilities from conceptual design through final implementationProcess focused with the ability to assess and improve processes and work methodsAbility to make quick decisions to adapt to any situationQuality awareness and ability to identify future failures, defects, and problemsStrong oral and written communication skillsStrong interpersonal and leadership skillsStrong organization and planning skillsAbility to meet schedule commitmentsAbility to work well under pressure, in a fast-paced environmentGE Aerospace offers a great work environment, professional development, challenging careers, and competitive compensation.
