Senior DevOps Engineer (AWS)

The Role:

We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer specialising in AWS for one of our clients. You are a perfect candidate if you are growth-oriented, you love what you do, and you enjoy working on new ideas to develop exciting products.

• 5+ years of experience in a DevOps or cloud engineering role.

• Proven expertise in AWS services and architecture, including hands-on experience with large-scale deployments.

• Strong proficiency with AWS services (EC2, RDS, Lambda, S3, CloudFormation, etc.).

• Expertise in Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.

• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, or PowerShell).

• Experience with containerization tools like Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes or ECS.

• Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab, CircleCI, or AWS CodePipeline.

• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., CloudWatch, ELK Stack, Prometheus).

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator, or DevOps Engineer certifications.

• Experience with hybrid cloud environments or multi-cloud strategies.

• Familiarity with cost optimization strategies in AWS.

• Knowledge of security compliance standards such as SOC2, GDPR, or HIPAA.

• Design, implement, and manage scalable, reliable, and secure infrastructure on AWS.

• Build and maintain VPCs, EC2 instances, RDS, Lambda, S3, CloudFront, and other AWS services.

• Ensure high availability and disaster recovery strategies are in place.

• Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK.

• Automate operational processes with tools like Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.

• Create scripts to streamline deployment, monitoring, and maintenance tasks.

• Design and implement robust CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or AWS CodePipeline.

• Automate software build, test, and deployment processes.

• Integrate CI/CD pipelines with monitoring and alerting systems.

• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting systems using CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar tools.

• Ensure adherence to security best practices, including identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and compliance requirements.

• Conduct vulnerability assessments and support remediation efforts.
