About the position The Associate Auto Claims Adjuster role at USAA is an entry-level position focused on adjusting non-injury auto claims. This position is designed for individuals looking to start a career in the insurance industry, with a strong emphasis on learning and professional development. The role involves investigating, evaluating, negotiating, and adjusting low complexity auto insurance claims while providing exceptional customer service to members of the military community and their families. The position includes a comprehensive training program and the opportunity for hybrid work after six months. Responsibilities • Acquire and apply basic knowledge of auto coverages, auto physical damage, and liability to evaluate and settle high volume and low complexity auto claims. , • Resolve claims through proactive problem solving and decision making, within authority guidelines and under direct supervision. , • Clearly document thought process including damage evaluation, investigation, negotiation, and settlement decisions. , • Collaborate and set expectations with external and internal business partners to facilitate claims resolution. , • Support members, business partners, and claimants through various communication channels to drive timely and effective resolutions. , • Acquire and apply foundational knowledge of Property and Claims (P&C) insurance industry products and services. , • Support workload surges and catastrophe (CAT) response operations as needed, including mandatory on-call dates and potential evening, weekend, and/or holiday work. , • Ensure risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled. Requirements • High School Diploma or GED , • Ability to provide exceptional customer service by communicating clearly and professionally using multiple communication channels. , • Ability to prioritize and multi-task while navigating through multiple business applications. , • Successfully acquire an insurance adjuster license and applicable state registrations within 90 days of hire.
