Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Vision: Define and champion the long‑term vision for arenaflex’s Retail Data Architecture, aligning it with business objectives and emerging market trends.
  • Data Gap Analysis: Identify critical data gaps by translating business questions into data requirements, benchmarking current data assets against future needs.
  • Roadmap Development: Create a detailed, phased roadmap that closes identified data gaps, prioritizes high‑impact initiatives, and outlines measurable milestones.
  • Data Modeling: Design robust data models that convert unstructured information into actionable knowledge, supporting analytics, reporting, and AI/ML workloads.
  • Agile Collaboration: Partner with agile development squads to implement the data roadmap, ensuring rapid delivery, iterative improvement, and alignment with sprint goals.
  • Analytics Enablement: Translate complex data sets into clear, business‑focused insights that drive product development, pricing strategy, and customer experience enhancements.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary liaison between business units, IT, and data engineering teams, articulating technical concepts in plain language and securing consensus on data‑driven strategies.
  • Governance & Compliance: Uphold data security, privacy, and regulatory standards, embedding best practices for data quality, lineage, and stewardship throughout the organization.

Essential Qualifications

  • Proven experience (8+ years) in designing and implementing enterprise‑scale data platforms, preferably within the travel, retail, or airline industry.
  • Deep understanding of data warehousing, data lake, and modern data mesh architectures.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret large, unstructured data sets and translate them into strategic business recommendations.
  • Demonstrated success in leading cross‑functional teams through complex, multi‑phase projects, delivering on time and within budget.
  • Excellent communication skills—capable of influencing senior leadership, presenting to non‑technical audiences, and writing clear documentation.
  • Hands‑on expertise with data modeling tools (e.g., ER/Studio, PowerDesigner) and query languages (SQL, NoSQL, GraphQL).

  • Track record of implementing data governance frameworks and ensuring compliance with GDPR, CCPA, and industry‑specific regulations.
