AI-Driven Software Engineer

The goal is simple: build better software, faster - and rethink how software teams operate. We’re now looking for an AI-Driven Software Engineer to join us on this journey. If you enjoy hands-on development, experimenting with new tools and methods, and working at the edge of what’s possible with AI in software engineering, this role is for you. What you'll do: Design and build cloud-native applications, APIs, and integrations ranging from fast-paced AI prototypes to heavy-duty, long-term production platforms Apply AI-driven development practices (e.g. Spec-Driven Development, Agentic Swarm Coding) in real client projects Work hands-on with modern AI coding tools (e.g. Claude Code, Codex, GitHub Copilot, and emerging agentic tooling) Contribute to how we redefine software development ways of working - not just follow existing ones Collaborate closely with clients and cross-functional teams, from design to production What makes you a great fit Strong software engineering background (Java or .NET preferred) Solid experience in building cloud-native applications, APIs, and integrations Practical understanding of how AI can improve software development workflows (you’ve implemented or experimented, not just read about it) Curiosity and willingness to adopt new development paradigms Strong communication skills in Estonian and English What makes this role different: Discover completely new ways of building software, not just delivering standard projects Prove how AI can solve complex, real-world development challenges in vital systems You won’t just use tools – you will help to define the practices Why Nortal: Work at the forefront of AI-driven software development Access to real-world projects where new development approaches can be tested at scale The freedom to design your workday where and when you're most productive A focus on health and wellbeing through extra health insurance and sports initiatives Supportive and low-hierarchy culture surrounded by sharp, inspiring tech experts Salary range: For mid-level position 2900-4500€ gross/monthly (full-time) For senior-level position 4600-6000€ gross/monthly (full-time) Final compensation will depend on factors such as relevant experience, role seniority, and skill set.
