Manager, Healthcare Quality Project Management

Position Summary The Project Manager is responsible for planning, supervising, and managing multiple large and complex projects in collaboration with project team members and stakeholders. This role requires the delivery of project solutions within defined constraints of scope, quality, time, and cost, utilizing established Project Management methodologies and standards. The Project Manager will provide leadership and maintain robust project management tools and practices for operational, strategic, integration, or transformation projects. Success in this role demands the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, deliver high-quality solutions, and function as an integral member of a cohesive team. Exceptional skills in collaborating with executives and physician teams are essential, and a strong background in population health is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead proposal efforts, including project scoping, prioritization, and identification of all stakeholders.
  • Determine the scope and size of each project, along with stakeholder requirements for every stage or aspect.
  • Develop and manage scope change control processes.
  • Complete project charters and obtain necessary approvals from all stakeholders.
  • Identify and manage risks associated with projects, implementing strategies to mitigate those risks.
  • Enforce project standards across teams and perform project reviews, including quality assurance and risk assessments.
  • Recommend appropriate courses of action for project issues or concerns, implement mitigation plans, and escalate risks as needed.
  • Build cohesive project plans by engaging input from others to define tasks and estimate the duration of all related activities.
  • Create and execute project plans, revising them through formal change control when appropriate.
  • Establish and oversee project expenditures and budgets.
  • Collaborate with financial stakeholders to ensure projects remain within financial and regulatory guidelines.
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate project activities, manage resources, and sequence activities to ensure objectives are achieved within project timeframes.
  • Maintain project focus by reordering tasks, shifting priorities, engaging resources, or otherwise managing unexpected occurrences.
  • Apply change control skills and manage to the expectations of end-users and management.
  • Manage systems and operational issues related to security, privacy, and stability, working with relevant departments to address these matters appropriately.
  • Participate in measurement activities required to report on project effectiveness, value capture, or other outcomes and success metrics as necessary.
  • Demonstrate effective mediation, negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Use professional expertise and training to promote decision-making and facilitate issue resolution.
  • Communicate relevant project information across the organization, including presentations to senior leadership.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, executives, managers, clinical teams, and other staff by analyzing user needs, applying logical reasoning, defining system requirements, and developing documentation.
  • Perform project closeout activities, including conducting Lessons Learned sessions.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in Project Management with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong leadership skills and proven ability to facilitate cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience working in managed care.
  • Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft software/tools.
  • Residence in Louisiana.
