The Data Engineering Team

Our Data Engineering team is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the data pipelines that power our media business. We work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and deploy data-driven solutions that drive business value and inform strategic decision-making. As a Data Engineer on our team, you'll have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from data warehousing and ETL/ELT pipeline development to data visualization and machine learning.

Key Responsibilities

As a Data Engineer at blithequark, you'll be responsible for:

  • Designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines that support our media business
  • Developing and deploying data-driven solutions that drive business value and inform strategic decision-making
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and deploy data-driven solutions
  • Troubleshooting and resolving issues with data pipelines and data-driven solutions
  • Staying up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in data engineering and cloud computing
  • Participating in code reviews and contributing to the development of best practices and standards for data engineering

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in ELT/ETL pipeline development and support
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL (ideally with Snowflake)
  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms, such as Snowflake, Databricks, or similar
  • Strong understanding of data modeling and data warehousing concepts
  • Experience with containerization using Docker
  • Experience with source control systems, such as GitLab or GitHub

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications would be a plus:

  • Experience working with large datasets and big data technologies
  • Proficiency in cloud design and product offerings, ideally AWS
  • Experience overseeing and deploying code using a source control system like GitLab or GitHub
  • Experience using cloud-based data platforms, such as Snowflake, Databricks, or similar
