Position Overview

The Event Technical Specialist will report to an Associate Director of Project Management or Director of Project Management and will be responsible for ensuring the flawless execution of events through accurate and timely setup, operation, and breakdown of advanced audiovisual equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Equipment Operation: Ensures a flawlessly executed event through accurate and timely setup, operation, and breakdown of advanced audiovisual equipment, including lighting and audio visual systems.
  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoots technical issues and resolves problems quickly as they arise, ensuring minimal disruption to the event.
  • Customer Service: Provides excellent service and strives to exceed the expectations and needs of internal and external customers, maintaining a positive relationship with all clients through effective communication.
  • Collaboration: Collaborates with internal team members on event solutions pre-event and during the event to ensure the best possible customer satisfaction.
  • Training and Development: Creates an atmosphere that fosters the development of technical and leadership skills in other employees, providing mentorship and coaching to technical, sales, and operations team members as needed.
  • Event Supervision: Performs advanced work (pre/during/post event) with operations team members, supervising and directing other technicians during an event.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Assists the team with proper security, storage, inventory, transportation, and maintenance of equipment, performing inventory and forecasting of equipment needs.

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's Degree: A Bachelor's degree is preferred, although not essential.
  • Event Technology Experience: A minimum of 3+ years of event technology experience with a specialty in Audio, Lighting, Projection, or Video is required.
  • Customer Service Experience: 3-4 years of customer service or hospitality experience is preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Technical 1-Star, Professional 200, and (1) Technical Level 300 in A/P/V/L, with experience signed off by DPM or higher.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to interact professionally and effectively with a diverse workforce, customer base, and senior-level management.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50 lbs and meet the specified physical criteria to effectively execute essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications

While not essential, the following qualifications are desirable:

  • Valid Driver's License: A valid driver's license is required for team members in positions that may operate Company vehicles, with additional DOT requirements potentially applicable.
  • Industry Certifications: Relevant industry certifications, such as CTS or CESP, are desirable.
  • Experience with Event Management Software: Experience with event management software, such as Encore or similar systems, is preferred.
