Job Summary

As a Customer Service Representative, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service to our low-volume accounts in the local geographic area. You will initiate monthly service calls to these accounts, update customers on new programs, promotional activity, products, and services, and assist with any current issues or unresolved problems. You will also work closely with field sales associates, warehouse associates, and customers to ensure that the order process runs smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Initiate monthly service calls to a specific number of low-volume accounts in the local geographic area
  • Update existing customers on new programs, promotional activity, products, and services
  • Assist customers with any current issues or unresolved problems, such as missed shipments, price adjustments, and backorders
  • Work closely with field sales associates, warehouse associates, and customers to ensure that the order process runs smoothly
  • Process all phone, fax, mail, email, and verbal orders from customers
  • Provide customers with accurate answers to questions and complaints regarding products and services
  • Escalate customers to Customer Service Supervisor in a courteous manner if unable to provide assistance
  • Perform data entry for purposes such as processing orders, accessing previous orders and special orders, and providing customers with current prices
  • Assist customers with backorders by offering substitutions and alternatives whenever possible
  • Communicate with all departments within the Distribution Center as well as field sales associates
  • Serve as liaison between customers and field sales associates
  • Make suggestions and recommendations to Supervisor in an effort to continually improve customer service operations
  • Comply with all appropriate policies, procedures, safety rules, and regulations

Requirements

Education and Experience:

Requires broad training in fields such as business administration, accountancy, sales, marketing, computer sciences, or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a four-year Bachelor's Degree program, technical vocational training, or equivalent combination of experience and education. Normally requires less than one (1) year directly related experience.

  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Ability to resolve customer issues quickly and creatively in order to improve customer satisfaction
  • Familiarity with ABC products, services, and pharmaceutical distribution operations
  • Strong organizational skills; attention to detail
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and inventory management system

Schedule

This is a full-time position with a schedule of Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:30 pm CST/10:00 am to 6:30 pm EST.
